Dick Lyne

The Last Picture Show

11th Mar –
21st Mar 2015

A tribute exhibition to self taught artist, Dick Lyne who picked up a paintbrush for the first time at age 65, his work reflecting his knowledge and love of the bush where he spent many years of his working life. As a bushman, Lyne worked mainly in the King Country and Matakana Island and as such these areas are well represented in his work.

Dick Lyne passed away in 2014.  This exhibition, co-curated by galllery director Melanie Roger and John Perry former director of the Rotorua Museum and folk art specialist, is his last show.

Special thanks to John Perry and Flotsam & Jetsam.
