Save Our Gallery Supporters Scroll on Tour

17.02.18

You may not know (and don’t worry, a lot of us are only just catching on), but Auckland Art Gallery’s funding has already been cut dramatically over the last few years and needs to be remarkably increased from 2018 onwards. We need to speak up.

Despite 50% more exhibition spaces, 80% more public event space and a growing Auckland super-city population to serve, Auckland Art Gallery operates with the same level of public funding as it did over 10 years ago. There’s something seriously not right about that.

Melanie Roger Gallery is working with the team at Save Our Gallery and will be hosting 'the scroll' on Saturday 3rd March.

Friday 16 Feb kicked off the signing of the Supporters Scroll outside Auckland Art Gallery, where Aucklanders from all over (including Phil Goff) put their name towards better funding for our city's cultural infrastructure.

We know not all of you could make it down to the pARTy, so we're taking the scroll on tour over the next few weeks to the following arty locations...
Saturday 17 Feb – Gow Langsford Gallery
Saturday 24 Feb – Michael Lett Gallery
Saturday 3 Mar – Melanie Roger Gallery
Saturday 10 Mar – Corban Estate Arts Centre
Saturday 17 Mar – Artists in Eden Day, Mt Eden Village Centre 11am – 1pm

We'll be open 11 - 3pm and look forward to seeing you and talking with you about art, the Auckland Art Gallery and what it means to YOU!
