Virtual Auckland Art Fair 2020

20.02.20

Melanie Roger Gallery is pleased to be part of the Virtual Auckland Art Fair online from 30 April - 17th May 2020.  The initiative comes after the Fair was cancelled due to the current Covid-19 pandemic and is a great opportunity to view and purchase works that were intended for the Fair itself.  Melanie Roger Gallery will be presenting a selection of new and recent work by gallery artists.

KIRSTIN CARLIN will present new larger scale work as a preview to her upcoming solo exhibition in late June - "Lilac, Lemon, Lime".   GAVIN HURLEY will exhibit new paintings hot on the heels of his critically acclaimed solo exhibition “Studio Visit” with works referencing his own archive of images and characters.  SAM MITCHELL has made new Perspex portraits continuing her fascination with strong female creatives – a casting call of feminists!  The Fair coincides with Mitchell's solo exhibition "Menagerie" at Melanie Roger Gallery.   HENRIETTA HARRIS will exhibit new large scale watercolour works with her trademark misty landscapes and surrealist figures.   Recent works by STANLEY PALMER will be presented – landscapes as love letters to Aotearoa.   EMILY WOLFE will exhibit recent paintings – still life works with her trademark oddities. These are quiet contemplative works with a twist! A solo exhibition "Hinterland" of her new work will run at the gallery in late May. Recent work by Grace Bader will be included whose near sell out show was a hit with audiences earlier this year.  Recent works by Robin Neate will be included - unfortunately not the large scale pieces we originally intended to show, but we will exhibit these at a later date!

Works will be online and available to view from Thursday 30 April at 11am.  www.artfair.co.nz
