Patrick Pound writes in the latest issue of Art News Magazine. "Collected Works" discusses his most recent exhibition "Just Looking" at Melanie Roger Gallery as well as giving a wider insight into his overall studio and artistic practice.
"Like most artists, I started collecting to inform my work. Gradually the collections became the work. My work got a lot more interesting when I stopped taking photographs and started buying them. When you collect other people's photos, you quickly find out that they fall into categories. Before long I had 130 or so distinct groups. Every type a drawer or two, in the making."
