Lifewise Donation Drive

06.12.25

We are doing something a little bit different with our gallery window space this month….a donation drive for our block neighbours Lifewise.

Being on Karangahape Rd, we have seen the extreme rise of homelessness and hardship this year. It’s in the news and we can’t avoid it. It’s a bit like ground zero. We see it all.

Lifewise are our neighbours directly opposite where they run Merge Cafe and we see too the great work they do in and for the community, so this Christmas so we want to help them.

We are collecting and putting together food parcels for those who need them this Christmas. Please join us and bring something for our collection. Matt Ellwood’s “Madonna and Child” (2013) will be in our gallery window space overlooking what we hope will be a growing pile of donations.

Suggested items are non perishable goods such as dried pasta, rice, cans (with pull tabs), cereal, crackers, noodles.  We are also accepting personal hygiene items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, sanitary items for women.

You can drop in items from this Wednesday when the exhibition opens, till we close for the year on the 20th December. We will be there Wednesday - Friday and Saturday 12-3pm. Please bring as much as you are able to and help our Karangahape community (and beyond) this Christmas!

If you can't make it but would still like to help - Link to donate here: https://www.lifewise.org.nz/product/wc-donation-donate-to-lifewise/
