Emily Wolfe | Imaginative Reality | Yu-Hsui Museum of Art, Taiwan
Concurrent with our current exhibition ‘Orbit’, is Emily Wolfe’s inclusion in ‘Imaginative Reality’, a major group exhibition at Yu-Hsiu Museum of Art in Taiwan, on view from 19 September 2026 to 17 January 2027. This exhibition examines the theme of “uncertainty” in contemporary painting by exploring how artists’ creative practices reveal deeper meanings behind visual imagery.
Curated by Song Sheau-ming (宋曉明), the exhibition asks a central question: “When looking at a painting, what exactly do we see?” Rather than relying on simple mimicry, the participating artists use distinct, highly individual visual languages to challenge conventional viewing habits. They prompt visitors to look beyond the surface of still life, landscapes, and physical spaces to uncover the deeper layers of time, memory, and existential uncertainty. The exhibition features works by Emily Wolfe, Cameron Martin, Nicholas Middleton, Greet Van Autgaerden, and Song Sheau-ming.
