Public Programmes | Sam Mitchell Artist Talk

SAM MITCHELL will discuss her new work in the collaborative exhibition "Meet" with GAVIN HURLEY on Saturday 17th October, 11am at the gallery.  This will also be the final day of the exhibition.

GAVIN HURLEY and SAM MITCHELL have paired up to present new work together in this exhibition. Air-dried clay and painted Perspex domes by Mitchell feature what might be the remnants of an ancient and imagined civilisation - vacated skulls and landscapes. While sculptural figures helpfully pointing or meeting around board-room tables have been painted and crafted by Hurley in oils and from paper.

Sam will also discuss her current residency at the Tylee Cottage, Whanganui as the Sarjeant Gallery Artist in Residence.

This exhibition and talk are part of Artweek Auckland 10 - 18 October 2015.
