SAM MITCHELL | Tylee Cottage Residency, Whanganui
Congratulations to SAM MITCHELL who has been selected as the Tylee Cottage / Sarjeant Gallery Artist in Residence for late 2015.
Mitchell intends to immerse herself in, and explore Whanganui with its strong craft community and history as a continuation of the themes explored during her 2014 residency as the William Hodges Fellow in Invercargill. Mitchell’s proposal is to examine both the history of Whanganui, but also the history of the Tylee Cottage Residency itself. With her magpie-like mining of local history and narratives, she is sure to create an exciting new body of work.
SAM MITCHELL will exhibit new work alongside work by GAVIN HURLEY at Melanie Roger Gallery in late September.
