Darryn George | Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre

13.07.26

Darryn George has a new outdoor lightbox exhibition outside the Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre.

The Tribute paintings draw their inspiration from Tukutuku patterns, particularly the Poutama (Stairway to Heaven) design. These works are named after the first Māori to embrace Christianity. They were involved in the bringing together of Māori and Pākehā that occurred through the gospel in the early 1800’s. Some were important signatories of the Treaty of Waitangi.

Darryn George will present new work as a solo exhibition with Melanie Roger Gallery in February 2027.  To reguster interest: info@melanierogergallery.com
